The sun was beginning to set, sending streaks of rosy pink and buttermilk through the brilliant blue sky as Darquin poked his head over the top of the sand dune. It had taken him nearly an hour to climb it, but there he sat at the top, staring out at the vast wasteland that lie before him, ready to be trekked through. He slung the haversack from his broad back and began to unpack a canteen of water and several crackers he had brought with him on his journey. As he ate and drank his fill, he looked around some more. As he peered across his shoulder, he saw what seemed to be another creature on the dune, sprawled out in the sunset. He packed away his provisions, and began to walk towards the stranger. As he got closer, he noticed her odd appearance. She looked more like she belonged in a volcano than out in the desert. Her fiery red head stood out on the sand like a beacon, with not even a trace of camouflaging abilities that most desert creatures are born with. The fur on her body looked like nothing more that the ashen remains of her hair's inferno, and her eyes were such a brilliant gold that he was sure that they were crafted of true gold! Her ensemble seemed to blend better with her surroundings. She was clad in a dark brown sleeveless shirt, made of some sort of lightweight cotton. It was studded with three solid gold crescents on her midsection. Her skirt was nothing more than thick tanned leather. Her thick ash-coloured tail billowed out from under it, kicking up clouds of grit and dust every time it swished. It was adorned with two golden tail rings at the end. She also had on thick leather straps around her arms and leather sandals (both studded with gold), and a leather collar with a gold tag. Both of her ankles were wrapped intricately with the same kind of white silk ribbon that tied off the back of her skirt. Darquin walked up to tghe creature, and extended a sandy brown paw.
"Name's Darquin. Darquin Pennytreasure. Who are you?" The strange creature continued to stare out into the nothingness of the desert. He opened his mouth to ask again, but she spoke first. "Name's Rehena Sandwave. What's it to ya?" Darquin took a step back. "Geez, no need to be so harsh. You live out here?" "Yeah. Do you? Naw, don't answer that, I can tell. Whatever. You trying to go out there?" She gestured towards the desert. Darquin nodded, and took a seat next to Rehena. 'Strange person. I think they could be useful,' both creatures thought simultaneously. 'Maybe I'll stick around.' ---- I had to make up a story. I'm so sorry, I got carried away. Lol, maybe Sonii will actually consider that to develop the character. By the way, this is for =Soniihedgehog's contest. Don't eat me D: Outline and Rehena (c) Colouring and Darquin (c) Me |

"If each of the 6.5 billion people in the world ate one donut every two minutes and never stopped, never got full, and never died, it would take the world's population over 652 billion years to eat a mole of donuts."
